Jane Tidman, owner of The Old Dairy has designed and produced a wonderful property in which to spend a long weekend, week or even longer. All creature comforts are catered for but with an uncommon attention to detail. Jane welcomes her guests with homemade cake and scones and it is this welcome that will hint at how the rest of your stay will proceed. You will find that The Old Dairy is perfectly situated within walking distance of two fine pubs, The Red Lion and The Countryman Inn (that also do great food) and within a slightly longer walk of a local village shop from which to gather provisions.
The Old Dairy is situated within easy reach of some absolutely stunning locations, including Durdle Dor and Lullworth and is within reasonable driving times from such places as Lyme Regis and Stonehenge.
The Old Dairy itself is beautifully appointed and Jane affords her guests total privacy other than to welcome her guests and to wave them off post-stay.
The Old Dairy is not just a place to stay but instead becomes ‘our’ home for the week. Anyone who has stayed there will understand this but to others it may sound a bit strange that it almost feels like it ‘belongs’ to us for the week and we treat it with the utmost respect as shown to us by Jane who leaves it in our grateful hands for the duration.
We have visited twice so far, once in June and once in November and both times were equally as enjoyable. We will definitely be visiting The Old Dairy again as, I see by the visitors’ book, most guests do. 🙂
