Not Quite A Smallholding!

At the beginning of July we welcomed two very handsome male lambs to help us in keeping the grass down. They are a cross between Frieslands and Portlands. They have very friendly natures and can be seen from The Old Dairy especially if called to enjoy their favourite variety of sheep nuts. Along with our sheep we have five very productive hens who are laying well in the longer sunny days we are now enjoying.

Being a beekeeper and managing four hives there is never a dull moment. At the start of spring and summer the bees really struggled with the wet weather and not being able to fly. However with this beautiful hot and dry spell they are finally bringing in the nectar. Hopefully we will get some honey this year!
